Happy navratri to all devotees.The most awaited religious festival has arrived which is also known as the Durgapuja. It is the longer festival as it is celebrated nine days continuously. Mostly this festival is celebrated by Hindus but now other religious people have a great faith in this occasion.All the devotees dedicate their nine days to Maa Durga. Some people do not eat a single piece of bread except the fruits as prasad. In a calendar year, this is celebrated twice and in each occasion a big procession take place on pilgrimage places.Some people distribute eating items such as Halwa, Ladoos, Samosas,Fruits etc.On tenth day, the statue of goddess Durga is immerse in  watersources, This day is also known as Dussehra.

It is believed that once when  the king of demon Mahishasura became very aggressive and defeated all the Devtas of Devlok. He declared himself as the king of devlok. He also seized the throne of  Indradev. On each day, he killed the Devs. Consequently, All the gods became very angry. Therefore, they called a meeting on a secret place.All the devtas requested to Brahma to solve the problems. After  thinking deeply he gave the order to his daughter goddess Durga to kill all the demons.At the same time, she fight with  evils and got victory over them. On that day navratri was celebrated in the memory of goddess Durga. It is so important because it symbolised the victory of  good over evil as Goddess Durga who fought the battle with bad power.

                        IMPORTANCE OF EACH DAY OF NAVRATRI

It is said that on navratri Maa Durga comes on the earth to bless her devotees.She pleased with those people and family which helps with one another.All nine days she makes journey of whole earth.The nine days signify different forms of goddess Durga. Here is all about his nine forms.

Day first of navratri is associated with Shailaputri( i.e. Daughter of Mountain) who is an incarnation of Parvati.Thus, sometimes people said Maa Durga as the wife of lord Shiva. She always depicted as the riding bull, Trishul in his right hand. The colour of this day is grey which depicts  action and vigor.

Day two is associated with Brahmacharini who is the second incarnation of goddess Durga. In this form
goddess Durga become Yogini. We worshipped Brahmacharini to get emancipation, peace and prosperity. The colour of this day is orange which depicts tranquility is used when strong energy is flow everywhere.

On third day we worshipped of Chandraghanta. She is the embodiment of beauty and symbolise bravery.On this day white colour has great importance as it makes people vivicious and pep up everyone's mood.

People worshipped Goddess Kushmanda on fourth day of navratri. Kushmanda is associated with the endowment of vegetation on earth.On this day red colour has a great importance.

Day five is associated with goddess Skandamata(mother of Kartikeya). The colour of this day is Royal blue which symbolise the transformation of mother strength when her child is confronted with danger.

Day six is dedicated to Maa Katyayani who is also the incarnation of Goddess of Durga. The colour of this day is yellow. She is considered as the most violent forms of Devi.

On seven day, Kaalarati is worshipped and considered as the most ferocious form of goddess Durga. The colour of this day is green. Goddess  Kaalarati  always appears with red attire.

The most important and significant day eight is associated with Mahagauri. She is the symbol of intelligence and peace. The colour links with this day is Peacock Green which depicts optimism.


The ninth (last )day of navratri is also known as Navami. On this day, devotees pray to goddess Siddhidhartri. She is sitting in lotus and has all the siddhis. Here she has four hands and also known as Mahalakshmi. The colour of this day is  purple.
